Technology Information Evening: Students & Parents of year 2,3,4

Technology Information Evening: Students & Parents of year 2,3,4

27/11/2019 - 7:00 pm > 8:00 pm

Location: Coiinda

In Year 5 /6 all students at St Augustine’s currently participate in the 1: 1 Laptops 4 Learning program (L4L).

In Year 3 / 4 all students will part of our new Future Learners 1:1 Device program. In year 3 and 4, their devices are safely kept at school. When they reach year 5 and 6, they will be given the responsibility of taking them home.

On Wednesday 27th November at 7pm in Coiinda there will be an information evening to explain the benefits of the program.

At St Augustine’s we recognise the need for students to be safe and responsible users of digital technologies. For this reason, it is an expectation that parents/guardians attend this session along with their children and continue to work with us and encourage this behaviour at home and school.

The session will start at 7 and will cover:

  • The Laptop 4 Learning MacBook program the current year 4s will complete.
  • The new Future Learner’s program for current year 2s and 3s will participate in for the next 4 years
  • Chris will conduct a session on Cyber safety, designed to empower parents to support and manage device usage in the home.
  • There will be the opportunity for parents to work with their children on the evening and to discuss issues.

We anticipate, the session will conclude at approximately 8pm

It is important that you take time to sit with your child and revisit the expectations and use of their laptop. Information and forms will be provided on the evening.  Please read and discuss these responsibilities with your child. All agreement forms need to be signed and returned to school by Friday 6th December.

We are looking forward to continually working with you and your child on this exciting initiative.
