Term 2 Week 2
LET US PRAY
Risen Lord Jesus, we continue to rejoice in Your triumph over death and the grave. Your resurrection has brought us new life and the promise of eternal salvation. What overwhelming joy and glorious celebration we experienced on Easter Sunday! When Mary, arrived at the tomb while it was still dark, our hearts were weighed down with the devastating loss of your cruel death. But there, the stone was rolled away! The grave was empty, for you had conquered sin and death forever! May your resurrection joy burn brightly in our hearts. May we be messengers of Easter joy and hope and tell your Good News to the world. Praise you Lord Jesus as our Risen Saviour, always there to bless us abundantly. May our lives be a testament to the power of your resurrection as we seek to follow you faithfully. Amen
Pope Francis 17 December 1936 – 21 April 2025
Forever in our hearts
“Come you who are blessed by my Father, says the Lord, inherit the kingdom prepared for you from the foundation of the world. ” Matthew 25:34
As the Catholic Church and the world mourns the passing of Pope Francis, we remember his life’s work of helping people find mercy, hope, and joy in God. Just one day earlier, he offered his final public blessing on Easter Sunday in Saint Peter’s Square. At the heart of Pope Francis’ actions lay his personal faith. It was perhaps best articulated in the motto he chose as Pope: miserando et eligendo. The quotation speaks of a God who has mercy on us as sinners and chooses us as friends in his service. It lay at the heart of Pope Francis’ faith and way of living. It made him bold and throughout his pontificate, Pope Francis tirelessly placed humanity’s goodness at its heart. He wasn’t afraid to challenge us, to challenge tradition, to strive every day to make people feel more welcome, more seen, more heard, and more understood. He pushed us to protect the world we inhabit, the one God made for us. His Christian example has been an inspiration to countless people. Rest in peace, Pope Francis in the loving arms of your God.
