Earth Hour 2026 celebrated its 20th anniversary this year with the global themes “Give an Hour for
Earth” and “The Biggest Hour for Earth.” These themes encouraged us to dedicate 60 minutes to
positive environmental actions—such as turning off all devices, restoring nature and learning about the planet.
During this hour, everyone at St Augustine’s powered down interactive whiteboards, computers, ipads and non-essential
lights. It was a wonderful way to teach our students about sustainability, but it’s also a
fantastic opportunity for all of us to disconnect from the digital noise for a bit!
