Re: News

LET US PRAY

Lord, we have begun a new term and we ask for your blessing on us. May we be attentive and available to hear you. Thank You for the gift of being able to rise each day with the assurance that You walk through it with us. Thank You for the gifts of creativity and uniqueness, and the energy to put them to good use. May all that we are, may all that we try to do, may all our encounters, reflections, even the frustrations and failings all be placed in your hands. May the work we do and the way we do it, bring joy, to all we come in contact with this term. We thank you. Lord. Amen

ST VINCENT DE PAUL

Dear Families, thank you for your kind and generous donations towards the annual winter appeal. It is through you support that as a community we are able to make a difference in the lives of those who are in most need. This community is inspired by the joy of the Gospels and our Catholic social teachings to do things that matter. The spirit to feed, heal, shelter, nurture, and inspire – the power to change lives – is in everyone. The Founder of the St Vincent de Paul Society, Blessed Frederick Ozanam said “Yours must be the work of love, of kindness, you must give your time, your talents, yourselves. The poor person is a unique person of God’s fashioning with an inalienable right to respect.”

Also thankyou to the wonderful Social Justice team for all your hard work in making posters, visiting classrooms, collecting donations and speaking about the importance of the appeal. St Augustine’s is very proud of you.

GRATEFUL THANKYOU FROM CARITAS PROJECT COMPASSION 2023

I would like to share with you the following letter from Caritas Project compassion.

Dear Melbourne Archdiocese Catholic Schools, Caritas Australia’s annual Lenten fundraiser Project Compassion has been a success this year thanks to the dedication and support of over 1,700 schools and 1,200 parishes across the country.  Your kindness and generosity will help us to all stand in solidarity with communities who face the challenges of poverty and ecological injustice. It is the passion and spirit of our supporters across Australia whose generosity of heart enables us to have our hands and feet in marginalised communities across the world. Thank you so much for your support of Caritas Australia’s Project Compassion appeal this year! It is very much appreciated. On behalf of Caritas Australia and the communities we support, thank you to your staff and parishioners for all their fundraising efforts this year. Your compassion in action will allow real change for our most vulnerable brothers and sisters.

Kind regards     Gwen Michener     Community Engagement Animator
